Barem Consultancy is an established firm providing consultancy services on development projects, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and research since 2009. We are looking for a Research and Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (RMES). The RMES will provide assistance to ongoing projects, and will be responsible for designing and implementing research and monitoring and evaluation studies. We welcome applications from candidates who have developed analytical and communication skills.
The Researcher and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will have multiple duties in a growing and evolving working environment. The major tasks related to the role are as follows:
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research in various fields such as climate change, gender equality, entrepreneurship, culture and arts etc.
- Design logical frameworks, assign indicators and develop methodologies for monitoring and evaluation studies
- Design and develop question forms and prepare surveys
- Carry out fieldwork
- Conduct data analysis in MS Excel, SPSS or other tools
- Visualize data and perform basic graphic design
- Write reports and develop content
- Provide support to manage all other information flows pertaining to the projects
- Document and prepare for tenders and offers
- Take part in trainings, workshops, search conferences and seminars in various roles
The qualifications and key skills required for the position are:
- Master’s degree in related fields
- Excellent writing skills in Turkish and English
- Previous experience in qualitative and quantitative research
- Previous experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation studies
- Experience in civil society and an understanding of social impact
- Ability to run multiple and complex projects
- High computer literacy (Office Programmes, Zoom, other productivity tools) (Must)
- SPSS or Stata knowledge is a plus
- Python or R knowledge is an asset
- Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively
- Ability to take the initiative and work independently
- Flexibility and adaptability to take on new responsibilities
- Ability to travel
