Communications and Public Relations (PR) Assistant

General Function

Roia is looking to expand its media presence and public outreach to reflect its growing responsibility as a provider of innovative solutions for positive social impact inside Syria. Accordingly, Roia is looking for a qualified and competent professional with solid experience in communications to help us spread awareness about our mission and activities. In particular, we are looking for an individual with a proven ability to write engaging copy.Specific Responsibilities

· Writing and improving copy for Roia’s online and social media platforms (main website, project websites, Facebook, Twitter)· Writing Roia’s outreach materials (newsletter, blog posts, articles)· Assisting in the creation and implementation of a PR and fundraising strategy· Writing grant proposals· Communicating Roia’s activities through reports (to partners and public)· Maintaining relationships with partners, the media and the public· Improving Roia’s internal communicationsRequirements

· English language native· Excellent command of written English· 1-year (cumulative) experience in copywriting· Ability to understand and account for intended audience and purpose of content· Good grasp of social media platforms and social media strategy· Clear communicator with ability to engage and inspire others· Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills· Motivated to learn, adapt and develop skills and practices· Experience or education in communications and/or PRAdditional preferred background experience

· Experience in PR for NGOsQualifications

· University Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or writing· Degree in political science or similar if possessing solid experience in communications
